Success Story – “Releasing Weight” – Kris Rudarmel

As part of today’s Success Story we’ll hear how Kris was able to “release” 28 lbs as a result of her LifeVision. In talking to Kris prior to the interview, she told me that listening to her LifeVision helped her reinforce an “eating plan” that she was currently using. And you might also be interested in why she used that term “release” 2 lbs a week as opposed to “lose” 2 lbs a week and why I just referred to it as an “eating plan” instead of a “diet”. It’s all part of the “conscious language” that I’m always referring to. Because our brain has a unique way of interpreting things, when it hears the phrase “lose” X, it kicks into the gear of “finding” X. And hopefully that makes sense. If you thought to yourself…..”Wow, I think I lost my keys”, you don’t really even need to think “I think I will go find my keys”, because it is a given that your brain understands the message that an automatic response to LOSE is to FIND. Over the years, we have trained it to always FIND what we have lost. Therefore, when trying to “LOSE” weight, we just substitute the word “release” because that word generally triggers the idea that you are letting go of something happily! (You could also phrase it “I let go of 2 lbs a week”.)

Along the same lines, clients typically substitute the word eating plan for “diet”. This stems from the fact that there seems to be so much emotional baggage with the word “diet”. For most people, all you have to do is mention that word and it triggers a whole slew of negatives reactions (mostly on a subconscious level). Feelings of deprivation, frustration, hunger, just to name a few. The term “eating plan” or “lifestyle” are more neutral and therefore create a much more receptive background for releasing the desired weight. So this is just one tip in using conscious language as part of your LifeVision.

The second part of Kris’s Success Story mentions the role that her LifeVision played in boosting her with confidence which in turn increased sales & business. This is something that I’ve seen over and over in the success people have with their Ideal LifeVision. By detailing how it feels to be confident and the results it creates, it’s just a matter of time before it begins showing up in your life. I was so glad to hear that Kris had put this into her LifeVision because CONFIDENCE is a trait worth focusing on because of how it touches so many aspects of our lives: business & how we present ourselves to others, thus changing our ability to attract others to friendships & relationships. It can affect our influence on others as we become more confident in speaking or sharing our message. So once again, the development of certain characteristic traits is a big part of a successful LifeVision.

Congrats to Kris for receiving the honor of 2009 Small Business of the Year! For more information on Kris’s business:

  • I was SOOOO excited that Kris is using the terms that I and Jennifer presented at Biz Divas last December! WAY TO GO!!!! “Releasing Weight” or “letting go” instead of “losing” weight have 2 completely different meanings to our subconcious mind. Verbalization as well as the written WORD are much more powerful to our minds than we realize!
This brings me to importance of attending Ann’s powerful Ideal LifeVision workshops to create your own masterpiece of WORDS to enable YOU to bring your hopes and dreams into your LIFE NOW! I especially LOVE that Ann teaches the importance of YOUR WORDS being Audible for you to “hear”! These are powerful techniques….using correct & positive WORDS is KEY to whatever you WANT to expand and grow in your life!
Thanks for using the BEST choice of words, Kris! Way to BE GIRL!
    Love,
