Success Story – “Balance” – Brent Coles
Finding and maintaining a comfortable balance in life is a universal challenge. Part of the confusion about “balance’ comes from thinking that balance means equal amounts of time. But consider a new definition of “balance”: Paying attention to every aspect of your life on a regular basis.
Today’s Success Story (featuring Brent Coles) focuses on using a LIfeVision to achieve “balance” and goal accomplishment in ALL areas of your life. Many of my recent success stories have been about the accomplishment of major financial or professional goals. But Ideal Lifevision is not just about making money. The Ideal You….Living your Ideal Life is definitely about all areas of your personal life as well as your professional & financial life. Take a look at how Brent successfully accomplished goals in several different areas of his own life by listening to his own verbal commands:
We move ahead in life by setting goals and we live a “balanced life” by setting goals for all our roles. Professional/Financial provides us with the opportunity to earn income, express our personality, and develop our potential. Relationships provides us with the chance to express love, assume and share responsibility, and contribute to society. Our Spirituality gives us an opportunity to tap into a power greater than ourselves and a source of inspiration. Emotional/Personal development is an area to set aside some time to work on developing new skills or our intellectual development. And finally, in our physical area, we can focus on exercise, proper diet and sufficient sleep.
Remember, we are all unique. So it is unreasonable to expect everyone to perfectly balance each role in life. After all, part of our uniqueness lies in how we interpret what roles are the most important to us. Great artists, for example, may be comsumed by their craft, spending little time elsewhere. Yes, their lives are imbalanced, but of great value to society. So, the important lesson is not about balancing our lives perfectly, but about balancing them in a manner that best expresses our potential and role on earth!
Ideal LifeVision is about creating focus and clarity in EVERY area of your life. So take the time to get that clarity you need. Maybe our upcoming LifeVision Tele-workshop is just what you need! Join us! Click here.

I love knowing that balance doesn’t always mean every area of my life getting the exact same amount of attention. I’d go crazy trying to make that happen. For me balance means taking the time to review my priorities each week to make sure that they are in alignment with my goals, both personally and professionally. As long as I am moving in a positive direction, and I take the time to evaluate my plans, then I stay on track and feel satisfied with what I accomplish.
I agree Michelle. But like you said, it’s focusing on your goals both personal & professional. LifeVision is SO much about implementing your personal goals (fitness, spiritual, relationships etc) as well as all the financial/professional goals that seem to take up so much of our time. “Prioritizing” is a key word.
There isn’t enough time in the day to focus on all the areas I should focus on. I guess I need to prioritize better because I feel so overwhelmed with all the areas sometimes that I don’t end up doing anything! I think i need to make better use of my mornings.
Mornings are when I get most of my stuff done! In fact by 8:00 I’m about ready for a nap! (5:00 am comes awfully early!) But it’s so worth it and it only takes 1-2 weeks before it’s habit and as natural as getting up at 7:00ish. Did you read my power hour article? Power Hour is the most productive few hours of my day and it’s where I get to “check off” some of my spiritual and personal development goals!
