Small Miracles

A lot of my client “Success Stories” tend to focus on the bigger accomplishments they have achieved through utilizing their personal LifeVisions. (Attracting their future spouse, paid speaking engagements, Big Bucks etc) But today I wanted to focus on the Small Miracles that transform our lives. I’ve learned from years and years of experience that despite how monumental a Big Goal accomplishment seems, it’s really the “little things”, one on top of another, that bring the biggest shifts and contribute the most to living my Ideal Life.
Most people would rather hear about how I used my LifeVision to go from making $24,000 a year to owning a million dollar food business than how I used it to overcome my shyness. But the reality is that through a few years of consistently listening to the following (from my Lifevision) I was able to significantly change my life not only in the emotional area, but my relationships and professional life as well.
“ I am an outgoing person. It’s easy for me to talk to people beyond my circle of friends. With ease, I engage in conversations with complete strangers. I put myself out there and in situations outside my comfort zone where I open up with my thoughts and ideas”.
Now it didn’t happen overnight, but over time I found myself talking to people in the grocery line. I started putting myself in situations that were WAY outside of my comfort zone:
1) Attending networking events where I was “forced” to talk to other professional women
2) Volunteering to teach workshops and small classes
3) Picking up the phone to ask people I barely knew if they wanted to go to lunch
Etc…..
Within years, I was a completely transformed person. And if you know me personally, you’ll probably find it hard to believe that I was once so shy I couldn’t even call the babysitter (because it was too scary!)
Just this week I received 4 emails from workshop participants of their “small miracles”. (I always ask my clients to send me an email with their “first small miracle”.)
Here’s what my inbox said this week:
- “I have been given the opportunity to present at a Staff Workshop at Salt Lake Community College in May, one of my life goals was to increase my public speaking and to actually get paid for it, which this is, so I’m very excited. My situation is rather toxic at work and without my LifeVision, it would be very difficult to function day to day, this really has changed my life, thanks so much for all you do. I am currently seeking employment opportunities, but I know that I will be sucessful and find a position where I will be valued and appreciated for what I bring to the table.
- “Just yesterday I was asked to present the introduction for a prominent speaker. This was something that takes a bit of confidence, along with presentation skills. I had it in my LifeVision to accomplish in February, but it happened a few weeks early!”
- “My first miracle happened on Saturday. I had asked my daughter for forgiveness last May, and she said that it would take some time. We have been getting along pretty well, and I had forgotten about the issue. I made my relationship with her part of my LifeVision last week. Saturday, out of the blue, she asked if she could talk to me privately. She said that she had forgiven me some time ago, but had never told me that. We had a good talk and felt closer to each other.”
- “I can’t believe how much better I feel, I feel that I am really in control of my life and my destiny.”
- “Here’s my small miracles that have happened in just a few short days: We had family night with the kids last night and my daughter actually had her boyfriend (who has been attached to her hip for two solid months) go home so she could just be with “us”! It was a wonderful evening and put everyone in a great mood!! I met with my business coach yesterday and my workshop is really coming together. Instead of these residual fears regarding can i really pull it off- I’m so pumped because I know the information will be life-changing for the people attending!! My fitness goals are right on task and they’ve actually seemed to be easier- I’m ready to bump it up a notch!! A girlfriend who I have not talked to for months called me Monday to get together- we’re going out to lunch today!! This is so much fun, i can’t wait to see what else will happen!”

Wow, Ann,
I love this article! It really is the little things that are BIG. They make all the difference, creating a positive momentum-leading up to “the big things”.
Thanks for encouraging us all to make small, obtainable steps ie:”little things”-because they matter most!
I like this article Ann. It is so true. I was just in your workshop last Wed. I wrote one line about my singing– I sing because I love to sing! I found myself doing just that today and made arrangements to sing once a week with an accompanist–which I thought of doing a long time ago but just couldn’t get myself to do it. And I was asked last night to sing at a gathering in a couple of weeks.
