Outlook Training – A great resource
So this past weekend, I participated in a workshop called The Power of Choice. This intense, information-packed, 3 day event gave me some new tools and concepts to wrap my mind around. It was not just conceptual, but also very experiential (and you know I love that!) At the core of this training was a tool called The Choice Process…..used to identify a negative belief and then replace it with a belief that works for me…instead of against me.
We began the first evening identifying some areas in our life that just aren’t working or in other words, we narrowed it down to 3 of our biggest challenges. We took some time to reflect on our current belief system by taking an inventory and then tracking the belief. This wasn’t a 2-3 step process….this involved digging deeper on multiple levels and facing how it showed up over and over again in our lives. (So more like a 10-12 step process)
Awareness is powerful, but more often than not, it’s not enough to change our beliefs. Outlook has many different tools in their toolbox, but Creating Momentum is at the center of changing those beliefs. You’ve probably heard the philosophy that if you keep doing what you’re doing over and over, you’ll always end up with the same results. And so this “Creating Momentum” tool is all about coming up with new ideas of breaking out of old patterns and thought processes.
From my own list I wrote down things like: Let someone else lead, Delegate, Post my new belief on a post-it note, wear a wrist-band as a reminder of my powerful choice, develop a “state change” gesture, warm up to the idea of speaking spontaneously to a large group …etc
Other activities included personality profiling, mini courses on Surrender, Abundance, Law of the Vacuum, Risk, Conscious language etc. In a lot of ways it reminded me of my Impact Training days, yet with a much gentler edge. 4 powerful trainers that walked the talk and came from experience! And of course in this environment, it’s hard not to bond with all the participants. I came away with 20 new friends!!
Would I recommend it? Absolutely! They are holding a presentation this Wednesday, Sept 23. 7:00 at the Holiday Inn Express on 4465 South Century Drive (45 West) in Salt Lake City.
This is right down the alley on everything I believe and have used in my own life. There’s room for improvement for everyone (including coaches). I was able to identify at least 2 beliefs that aren’t working for me and causing some negative results in my life. Beyond just awareness, I now have a concrete action plan that will shift this from mere awareness to implementation.

Wow, Outlook Training looks like something that would benefit me, as I prepare to take myself to a higher vision and lofty goals that seem beyond ME at times! As I finish and refine (over and over) my book “The Boss Of Myself”, I wish to gain confidence in speaking in public -especially spontaneously as you mentioned in your blog! Thanks, Ann for the valuable information!
They have a “coaching” program that goes 90 days. I’m starting it next week on Oct 8th. We’re suppose to decide on a goal that we feel it truly “far out” there. And then through the support of Outlook, we’ll achieve some life-changing results. I’m excited about it. They have a free guest night to find out more. Let’s go sometime soon!
I can’t wait!!! I’m starting the 90 day coaching program and I have some REALLY PUSH-ME-To-The-LIMIT Goals. I have 2 in fact. One has something to do with being a size 6 and the other has something to do with $10,000 in a very short amount of time! Can’t wait!
