24 hours alone – Getting STILL

Some things just work out perfectly.  I had plans on going to my cabin with my best buddy Tiffany Peterson for a weekend reprieve,  but at the last minute she had an impression to cancel.  (And when I was miffed that she canceled, she reminded me that she was following my advice to honor those spiritual impressions….so I didn’t have much room to complain!)

But seriously….being alone for 24 hours in the mountains?  Was this a good idea?  (We had a bear at the cabin last fall that kinda scared the $@#$ out of me).  I must say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a VERY long time.  I considered it one of the most spiritually centering things I’ve done for myself.

Here’s what I did (lest you think I just slept and watched movies the entire time…although that would have been fun if that were my “intention”.)

1)  I “fasted” from food & technology for a full 24 hours!  No phone, text, internet, TV.  NO worries about buying, purchasing or consuming food.  It was wonderful not wondering what the next morsel I put into my mouth would be.

With no technology or food “preoccupations” my attention was able to focus elsewhere once I went through some “withdrawal” symptoms.

2)  I spent many hours praying, meditating, pondering, and letting my mind roam on all sorts of possibilities. If anyone was “looking”, I’m sure it looked like I wasn’t being very productive, but spiritual downloads are VERY productive.  Because I was alone with no distractions it was very conducive to receiving “personal revelation”…..in other words, God’s Word and Will for me personally.  I was able to get very clear on what many of my next steps were (in all areas of my life)  with approval from my higher power!

3)  I read lots of books that gave me new ideas to ponder.  (No novels this time….just spiritual, religious, and personal development books).  I think I brought up 5-6 different books and intuitively selected exactly what I needed to read.  These books gave me an additional “boost” in motivation and inspiration…always a good thing.

4)  I wrote in my journal and took inventory of the first half of the year and if I had closed the gap between where I was and where I wanted to be.  I also took a notebook and did a few “cleansing” exercises to get rid of negative emotion that seemed to be stuck in my heart.  When I was done  I felt 10 lbs lighter! (or was that from the “fasting”?) Journaling is a great way to connect with feelings and emotions and other unresolved things.

5)  I wrote a new Lifevision was unlike any other LifeVision I’ve ever written.  I broke many of my Lifevision rules, but I felt it was coming from God’s lips to my ear (or fingers).  A very spiritual experience to get a download like that.  I even got it recorded and have been listening to it and feel so incredibly centered on exactly what my purpose is.

6)  I continued up the mountain to a few isolated lakes that I walked around. That connection with nature is SO powerful.  I had many moments of absolute BLISS.

So that is the condensed version of my weekend, but it gives you an idea of what can happen in a short amount of time if you set the intention, create the environment and make it happen!

What are your thoughts?  Can you visualize yourself having this experience?  What would you want to accomplish in 24 hours alone?
