Need a Bridge-builder – Step 2 Results!

One of my favorite parts of my business is the visionary aspect of it (DUH!)  I absolutely love envisioning myself 1-2 years down the road and what I’ll be “doing” at Ideal LifeVision.    I have all sorts of grandiose ideas centered on leading a community of people who want to implement permanent & positive [...]

As a Man Thinketh

That phrase is not only the title of a very popular self-growth book, but it is also an often quoted scripture from the Bible ( Proverbs 23:7).

James Allen, a writer and philosopher in the early 1900’s wrote a whole book based on this phrase. Of course the idea being that man is literally what he thinks and his character a sum total of all his thoughts.

Affirmations vs. LifeVision

In my business as a LifeVision expert and coach I’m often asked the difference between Ideal LifeVision and affirmations. So I thought in this post I’d do a little comparison.

One of the biggest draw backs of affirmations is that they aren’t specific enough to create a powerful vision that will compel you to action. With single sentence affirmations, your mind (or imagination) isn’t given enough information to create an inner picture that conjures up the important aspects of goal accomplishment: emotion, motivation, visualization, & action plan.

Brent Hall – Self Improvement “implemented & executed”

Many if not most people who come to Ideal LifeVision have “growth and learning” as their personal mantra. They are always looking for new ways to grow both personally and professionally. And to accomplish this, these individuals are constantly attending seminars, tele-workshops and picking up the latest self-help book at the local bookstore or online.

And it’s probably not a stretch of the imagination (since you’re reading this) that you are also on the same path.

But the typical scenario is that even though you were incredibly passionate about what you were reading (or learning) at the time, within a few weeks you were more or less right back where you started with the same old thoughts, habits and unfulfilled dreams. Over time, you began to give up your dreams because they weren’t being fulfilled anyway! Life went on in the same way it always had.

This is the sad story of too many of us self-development junkies.
